In the second session of the Tour Championship semifinal, Zhao Xintong, who had already taken an 8–0 lead in the first session, won the opening frame to reach match point. Higgins pulled one back to save a match point, but Zhao then produced a 50+ break to seal the victory, defeating Higgins 10–1 to advance to the final.
